We have plenty to “see and do” right on our doorstep, with even more possibilities a short drive away. Across the valley the mountain bike trails of Bike Glenlivet are a real gem for novice and experienced cyclists alike year-round, while The Lecht attracts skiers and snow sport enthusiast during the winter months.

Balneden is the ideal place to escape and enjoy a week, or a few days, cycling . We are perfectly situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, within close proximity to the excellent mountain bike trails on the Glenlivet Estate and to many more, further afield.

With its highly varied landscape Glenlivet Estate is a very special place for wildlife. Up on the high moors, if you are sharp eyed and very lucky, you may spot a mountain hare, black grouse, or even a golden eagle passing by.
