Travelling to Balneden
Check in time is from 5pm onwards. If you would like earlier entry, please call and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Driving directions are best obtained from the AA route-planner or Google maps, both of which recognise Balneden Steading. If using a satnav, please do not rely on our postcode as you will be directed about a mile away, from where you will see Balneden perched on the hill to the NW!
In the height of winter, it is possible that the snow gates on some of the main roads may be closed. Please call us if you require advice on alternative routes. During periods of snow or ice, our 600-metre access track can present a challenge to vehicles not equipped with 4WD or winter tyres. If this is the case when you arrive, there is a parking area inside the gate on the right-hand side: please call when you arrive and we will collect you.
Car hire and public transport: Guests wishing to leave their car behind, or take a low carbon holiday can find details of public transport and EV car hire here.
