On The Road

As we have some great roads to ride on, Balneden is an excellent hub to explore from, on road and off.

For younger, or less adventurous riders we have a 10 mile circuit right on our doorstep. And, if you fancy a break half-way round then a short uphill excursion to the Bike Glenlivet Centre is well worth the extra effort. Much bigger challenges wait for the more energetic. Maybe you would like to experience part of the “King of the Mountains” route, conquering the Lecht, down to Cock Bridge, then back again! Another route could take you down through Glenlivet to explore the Braes, or even further, taking in Ballindalloch, Craigellachie, Archiestown and back through Grantown, giving you the final challenge of the day – Bridge of Brown! The Rock and Road Festival, held at Bike Glenlivet in June, also has its own road challenge, the Spirit of the Glen Sportive.

More challenging events include: the King of the Mountains Sportive held in May; and the Etape Royale in July.
